Every May fourth, fans around the world celebrate a galaxy far, far away.
For Disney+ — home to the entire saga — this global holiday is both a gift and a litmus test: can we re‑ignite our 120M+ subscribers, surface beloved catalog titles, and entice first‑time viewers, all on a single launch day?
Now in it’s fifth year the Product Creative design team, Lucasfilm and Disney Creative Marketing aimed to expand the experience by delighting fans from the moment they open the app. That included easter eggs, exclusive celebratory artwork, making marathon watch parties turnkey on the always-on Stream, and honoring the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith with special edition artwork.
We delivered design-led storytelling in-product, aligned executives around a shared creative vision, refreshed legacy IP and successfully celebrated the most discerning fanbase on the planet.
