As the 2016 election race was heating up so was the political maneuvering in Westeros. What better way to celebrate the drama and chaos of Season 6 of Game of Thrones than a fan-led mock political campaign to align with real world events.
Working with Doubleday & Cartwright the digital-first campaign involved an immersive online experience, coordinated social posts, original A/V creative and live voting for fans to celebrate their favorite character duos.
Creative was inspired by historical U.S. political ephemera, a skewed patriotic color palette and in-world visual cues to build out a robust design toolkit that drove the look and feel of the Season 6 launch while supporting fans’ contributions and engagement on social.
We connected a team of developers, motion designers, video editors, illustrators, photo compositors and designers to deliver the story-driven work and create the cultural moment it was.
